Abdullah Mahmud Hendropriyono, Jenderal TNI (Purn) lahir di Yogyakarta pada tanggal 7 Mei 1945. Sejak tahun 1948 tinggal di kota Jakarta. Pendidikan umum yang ditempuh berturut-turut SR Muhammadiyah Jakarta, SMP Negeri V Jakarta, SMA Negeri II Bagian B / Ilmu Pasti Jakarta, Sarjana Administrasi Negara STIA LAN RI Jakarta lulus tahun 1985, dengan skripsi Administrasi dan Manajemen Dalam Komando Pasukan Sandi Yudha. Sarjana Hukum Sekolah Tinggi Hukum Militer (STHM) lulus sangat memuaskan dengan skripsi aktual Kertas Karya Perorangan sebagai prasyarat, bagi Pembebasan Bersyarat Narapidana. Sarjana Ekonomi Universitas Terbuka Jakarta lulus tahun 1995 dengan predikat sangat memuaskan, Sarjana Tehnik Industri Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani Bandung lulus dengan sangat memuaskan, Pascasarjana Administrasi Niaga University of the City of Manila Philippina, Pascasarjana Sekolah Tinggi Hukum Militer (STHM) lulus tahun 2003 sangat memuaskan dengan tesis Peradilan Militer sebagai sarana penegakkan disiplin dalam kehidupan TNI .

Pendidikan militer di Akademi Militer Nasional di Magelang tahun 1967, Australian Intelligence Course Woodside 1971, United States Army General Staff College Fort Leavenworth USA tahun 1980, Sesko ABRI tahun 1989 lulus terbaik dan kertas karya perorangan terbaik dengan penghargaan Karya Wira Nugraha, KSA VI Lembaga Ketahanan Nasional tahun 1995 lulus terbaik dengan penghargaan Prestasi Tinggi. Kualifikasi keterampilan militer Para-Komando, Terjun bebas militer dan penembak mahir.

Jabatan yang pernah diduduki diantaranya Komandan Detasemen Tempur Para Komando, Asisten Intelijen Kodam Jaya tahun 1986 di Jakarta, Danrem 043/Garuda Hitam tahun 1988 di Lampung, Direktur Badan Intelijen Strategis tahun 1990, Panglima Kodam Jaya tahun 1993, Komandan Kodiklat TNI AD 1994, Sekretaris Pengendalian Operasional Pembangunan RI tahun 1996, Menteri Transmigrasi dan PPH RI merangkap sebagai Menteri Tenaga Kerja RI pada tahun 1997-1999. Sejak tahun 2001 hingga tahun 2004 menjabat sebagai Anggota Kabinet Gotong Royong/Kepala Badan Intelijen Negara (BIN).

Berbagai bintang-bintang dan tanda jasa yang telah dianugerahkan antara lain Bintang Mahaputera Indonesia Adipradana, Bintang Kartika Eka Paksi Nararya-prestasi, Bintang Bhayangkara Utama, Bintang Yudha Dharma, Bintang Dharma, Satya Lencana Bhakti untuk luka-luka di medan pertempuran dan gelar kehormatan sebagai Veteran Pembela Republik Indonesia ( Pembela / E , NPV : 21.157.220 ).

Profile (English)

Abdollah Machmood Hendropriyono (General, retired) was born in Yogyakarta on May 7, 1945. Since 1948 he has lived in Jakarta. His primary and tertiary education was at the Muhammadiyah School in Jakarta, the 5th Public Junior High School in Jakarta, and Public High School in Jakarta. His undergraduate university education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration from the Public Administration Institute in 1985. He received a law degree from the Institute of Military Law in Jakarta, where he completed his actual thesis on Pre-conditions for Releasing a Convict. He received an economics degree from the Terbuka University in Jakarta in 1995, an engineering degree with distinction from the Achmad Yani University in Bandung, a graduate degree with distinction from the Institute of Military Law.

Hendropriyono graduated at the National Military Academy in Magelang in 1967. He also attended the Australian Intelligence Course at Woodside in 1971, the United States Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Missouri (USA) in 1980. In year 1989 he graduated at the Indonesian Armed Forces Command and General Staff College with distinction, and won the Karya Wira Nugraha award for the best thesis. He was the honor graduate at the Indonesian National Resilience Institute in 1995. He has military specific qualifications, such as the Raiders, Paratroop-Commando, the Military Freefall, and the Marksmanship.

Among his military assignments, he has been the Commander of 13th Para-Commando Battle Detachment, the Assistant for Security within the Special Forces Command, the Intelligence Assistant for the Metro Jakarta Military Command in 1986, the Commander of the Black Garuda military regional command in Lampung in 1988, a director in the Armed Forces Strategic Intelligence Agency in 1990, the Commanding General of the Metro Jakarta Military Command in 1992, the Commandant of the Army Training, Education and Doctrine Command in 1994, the Secretary for the Management of Operational Development to the President Republic of Indonesia in 1996, the Minister for Transmigration and Forest Squatters Resettlement in the VII Development Cabinet. In the Reformation Cabinet, he was the Minister for Transmigration as well as the Minister for Manpower during 1997-1999. From 2001 until 2004, he was a member of the Gotong Royong cabinet while serving as head of the State Intelligence Agency.

Hendropriyono has received numerous awards for excellence in government service, among them is The Highest National medal Bintang Mahaputera Indonesia Adipradana, the Bintang Kartika Eka Paksi Nararya Prestasi as medal for achievement in the Army missions, the Highest medal Bintang Bhayangkara Utama from the National Police, the Bintang Yudha Dharma, the Bintang Dharma from the Indonesian Armed Forces, the Satya Lencana Bhakti for wounded in action in the field of combat.
